Serrano rolled into track with his eyes set on breaking the 30-year old school record for the 5,000m. With the 5k record under his belt Serrano took aim at the 10k school record and narrowly missed with his 29:43 run at the Mt Sac Invite. Serrano took his newfound fitness and marks to the line at NCAA Championships attempting the tough 10k/5k double and pulled it off with flying colors, placing 5th in the 10k, and 4th in the 5k. Serrano then went on to finish his final year of eligibility by placing 6th at the NCAA DIV II XC Championships, the 2nd best placing by a Chico State runner ever and a national title on the track in the 5,000m run. Since then, Serrano has ran numerous races in 2007 (cross and road) some of the more notable would be a 1:04:20 half marathon at the 2007 San Jose Rock and Roll Half Marathon and a 14:11 5,000 time at the Seagate Elite 5K in San Jose.
